March 21, 2026 | Lacrosse
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Boston College lacrosse fell to No. 1 North Carolina,  21-12, on Saturday afternoon at Dorrance Field. The Eagles drop to 5-5 overall and 4-3 in the ACC, while the Tar Heels improve to 9-0 and 7-0 in league play.
Lily Kondas led the offense with a personal-best five goals on five shot attempts. Giulia Colarusso, Casey Colbert, and Marissa White each recorded three points, with Colarusso and White scoring twice. Colbert added a team-high two assists.
Defensively, six Eagles caused turnovers, while Abbey Herod controlled seven draws.
North Carolina jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, but Boston College responded late in the opening quarter as Kondas followed a goal from Colarusso to even the score. The Tar Heels answered with five straight goals to close the period and take a 7-2 advantage.
UNC extended its run with another goal in the second quarter, pushing the streak to six. The Eagles battled back, however, using a 5-1 run sparked by Molly Driscoll to cut the deficit to 9-7. The stretch was capped by a Casey Colbert goal off an assist from her sister, Kylee Colbert.
The Tar Heels regained control from there, scoring seven consecutive goals to pull away, a run that carried into the second half. North Carolina maintained at least an eight-goal lead over the final 18 minutes.
Boston College returns to action on Thursday, hosting Stanford at 5 p.m. on ACC Network at Alumni Stadium.
