Eagles Fall to No.23 South Carolina in Series Opener

Columbia, S.C. - The Boston College softball team (10-15) dropped the first game of the weekend 10-2 against No.23 South Carolina (17-10) on Friday night.
After an early start, the Gamecocks would hold the Eagles scoreless through the first five innings going into the top of the sixth with a 6-0 lead.
Nicole Riddell got the Eagles offense started with a single up the left line. Tavye Borders laid down a bunt for a single and advanced the runner. Janis Espinoza brought in the first run with a sac fly. Emma Knight and Abby Ptak added hits and one more run for BC to cut the lead to 6-2.
The Gamecocks would add four runs in the bottom of the inning to end the game in the sixth at 10-2.
