BC Hosts Maine in Hockey East Quarterfinals

Eagles take on the Black Bears Friday night at Kelley Rink
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 17/16 and Boston College men's hockey team begins postseason play this Friday, playing host to Maine at Kelley Rink in the Hockey East quarterfinals. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on NESN and ESPN+ and can be heard on WEEI 850 AM.
SETTING THE SCENE
• The Eagles are 19-14-1 overall and finished 13-11-0 in Hockey East
• The Black Bears are 18-13-3 overall and went 12-11-1 in league play
• BC is ranked No. 17 in the USCHO poll and No. 16 in the USA Hockey poll
BC IN THE HOCKEY EAST TOURNAMENT
• BC is 79-38-2 all-time in the Hockey East Tournament
• The Eagles are 8-5 all-time against Maine in the event
• Boston College is 46-22-1 all-time in the quarterfinals
SETBACKS TO UMASS AND NORTHEASTERN
• Boston College dropped its final two games of the regular season last weekend
• The Eagles fell to UMass, 2-1, on Thursday evening and 4-2 to Northeastern on Saturday
• James Hagens posted a point in both games to extend his point streak to a career-best 12 games
• Ryan Conmy had two assists against Northeastern to bring his season total to 17

• J. Hagens leads the Eagles in scoring with 42 points on 21 goals and 21 assists
• Dean Letourneau is second on the team in points with 35, scoring 19 goals and dishing out 16 assists
• Conmy is second on the team in assists with 17
• Nolan Joyce and Lukas Gustafsson are tied for the team lead in blocked shots with 36 each
• Louka Cloutier has a 18-12-1 record this season with a .909 save percentage and 2.37 goals against average
HOCKEY EAST AWARDS
• J. Hagens earned two Hockey East awards on Wednesday, being recognized as the Service Credit Union Scoring Leader after leading Hockey East in scoring with 28 points on 13 goals and 15 assists as well as earning the league's Three Stars Award
• Luka Radivojevic was named to the Pro Ambitions All-Rookie Team
• Will Vote was selected as one of two recipients for the Len Ceglarski Individual Sportsmanship Award
A LOOK AT MAINE
• The Black Bears dropped their regular season finale to Vermont last Saturday, 5-3
• Brandon Holt leads Maine in scoring with 32 points on six goals and 26 assists
• Justin Poirier has a team-high 18 goals, with Josh Nadeau right behind in second with 17
• Mathis Rousseau has played 16 games between the pipes, including the last five. He has 2.56 goals against average and a .897 save percentage
• Holt was named Hockey East's Best Defensive Defenseman and the other recipient for the Len Ceglarski Individual Sportsmanship Award
• Owen Fowler was named the league's Best Defensive Forward
