Eagles to race at BU, Harvard and Washington
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College Women's Track and Field prepares for its busiest weekend of the indoor season, competing in three meets across the weekend. The team begins with the Husky Classic and Harvard Crimson Open on Friday, February 13, followed by the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Saturday, February 14.
The sprint group had its best weekend of the year at the John Thomas Terrier Classic last week, breaking two school records. Sydney Segalla kicked it off by breaking her school record in the 400m, running a 51.90 to win the event. Her time cleared her previous best by nearly a second and ranks ninth in the NCAA as of this past weekend. She, along with Anna Becker, Anna Sonsini, and Kyla Palmer, then recorded a 3:35.55 in the 4x400 relay, setting a new school record by four seconds and ranking them 19th in the nation.
Along with the sprinters, the women recorded four top-ten marks. Ava Carter (24.76) finished with the fifth fastest 200m in program history, Iris Bergman (2:05.99) ran the fifth fastest 800m, and Kyra Holland (4:36.46) and Imogen Gardiner (4:39.73) ran top ten times in the mile.
Following this weekend, the group takes on their last meet before the ACC Indoor Championships, competing at the Terrier DMR Challenge on Sunday, February 22.
