Segalla Qualifies for 400m Final at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Runs a personal best and second fastest preliminary time

EUGENE, Ore. – Sydney Segalla earned a spot in Saturday's 400m final, as Imogen Gardiner and she competed at the 2026 Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Oregon at Hayward Stadium.

Gardiner competed in the second heat of the 1500m semifinal, where she finished in 10th place with a time of 4:13.08 and 20th overall. She finishes her outdoor season as an All-ACC Second Team honoree in the 1500m, as well as the record holder in the 1500m.
In the 400m semifinal, Segalla pushed in the final 100m to cross the line in first place in her heat and second overall with a time of 50.31. That crushed her personal best and school record by .32 seconds, making it the eighth-fastest time in the NCAA this season.

Next up: Segalla prepares for the 400m final, set for Saturday, June 13th at 9:02 p.m, as she looks to become the first NCAA Champion for Boston College in the 400m, and just second ever in program history. Action can be streamed on ESPN.
