Women's Basketball Drops Road Contest to No. 8/7 Louisville

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball fell to No. 8/7 Louisville, 85-56, on Saturday afternoon in the KFC Yum! Center.
The Eagles fall to 4-18 and 0-9 in the ACC, while the Cardinals improve to 19-3 and 9-0 in the league.
Amirah Anderson poured in a team-high 16 points on 6-of-13 shooting from the field and added five rebounds. Jocelyne Grier rounded out the leading scorers with 13 points, and Kiera Edmonds came off the bench to grab a team-high seven boards.
The Cardinals started out of the gate with an early double-digit lead until a Grier jumper sliced the deficit to nine. However, the hosts scored on the ensuing possession to go into the second quarter with an 18-7 lead.
Louisville continued to stretch its lead in the second period, building a 44-21 point cushion at the break. The Eagles couldn't overcome their counterpart's 54.7 percent shooting from the floor, leading to the victory for UofL.
BC returns to action on Thursday against NC State at 6 p.m. on ACC Network.
