BC Hosts Syracuse for Alumni Day

Eagles welcome Orange for 88th all-time meeting
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College is back in action this weekend at the Edgerley Family Court at Conte Forum, as it welcomes Syracuse Saturday afternoon for Alumni Day. Tip off is set for 2 p.m., streaming on ACCN and heard on WEEI 850.
BOSTON COLLEGE VS. SYRACUSE- ALL-TIME SERIES
- Tuesday marks the 88th all time meeting between BC and Syracuse.
- The Orange hold an 27-60 series lead.
- BC's most recent encounter with Syracuse occurred on Feb. 8, 2025 where The Orange claimed a 95-86 win in a triple overtime thriller.
LAST TIME OUT
- Boston College dropped its road contest against No. 22 Clemson in a 74-50 decision on the road.
- Fred Payne had a game-high 20 points. He has surpassed 20+ points in four of his last five games
- Boden Kapke and Jayden Hastings each added nine points on the night, Hastings added a career-high six blocks.
- BC moves to 0-4 in ACC play and 10-23 all-time against Clemson.
EDGERLEY FAMILY COURT
- The basketball court at Silvio O. Conte Forum will officially be named the Edgerley Family Court starting this season.
- The Edgerley's are active members of the Parents Leadership Council and are supporters of undergraduate financial aid at Boston College, having co-chaired Pops on the Heights in 2023 and 2024.
- Sandra Edgerley serves on the Boston College Board of Trustees, where she is a member of the Academic Affairs Committee. Paul Edgerley is a senior advisor at Bain Capital, where he was a managing director and played a leadership role for more than 30 years.
- The court is a lasting symbol of the Edgerleys' commitment to enhancing the tradition of excellence at Boston College.

- Chase Forte secured 1,000 career points in BC's ACC opener against Georgia Tech (1/3).
- Donald Hand Jr. is 92 points away from reaching 1,000 career points; all have come with Boston College.
- Aidan Shaw reached 100 career games played against Harvard (11/26).
- Caleb Steger and Marko Radunovic made their collegiate debuts in the season opener against FAU (11/3). Radunovic also scored his first career points in that game, while Steger claimed his in BC's home opener against The Citadel (11/6).
RISING ABOVE THE CROWD
- Boston College is making their mark nationally through the first 17 games this season.
- Defensively, the Eagles rank 27th in the nation and third in the ACC in blocks per game (5.1). Jayden Hastings (28; 4th) and Aidan Shaw (25; 6th) rank in the top ten in individual blocks in the ACC.
- The team also holds the 57th best 3pt percentage defense (30.4) and 61st best scoring defense (68.2) in the country.
- BC is cleaning up the boards efficiently, collecting 38.2 boards per game, good for eighth in the ACC. The team is also taking care of the ball, allowing just 10.4 turnovers per game. That mark ranks 80th in the nation and sixth in the ACC.
MAKING THE LEAP - FRED PAYNE
- In his second full season with BC, Fred Payne has made improvements on both sides of the ball.
- Payne has seen increases in points (+7.2), rebounds (+1.1), assists (+1.6) across 17 games.
- The redshirt-sophomore surpassed his total points tally (171) from last season in the first 15 games of the 2025-26 campaign.
- Defensively, the redshirt-sophomore has recorded more steals (14) and blocks (4) so far this season.
- Using the PAR/G metric (points+assists+rebounds/game), Payne has jumped +9.9 year-over-year.
DEFENDING THE HILL
- Boston College has defended home court through nine games, holding a 6-3 record on the Edgerley Family Court.
- The Eagles are holding opponents to 62.7 points per game and limiting them to 38.4% from the field and 28.0% from behind the arc
- At least two BC players have scored in double figures in each home contest this season. Fred Payne scored a career high 24 and Donald Hand Jr added 14 points in the most recent contest against N.C. State.
CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Boden Kapke logged a career-high 17 points, and Fred Payne dished a career-high seven assists against FAU (11/3).Â
- Marko Radunovic and Caleb Steger made their collegiate debuts against FAU. Radunovic recorded eight points, going 2-3 from behind the arc, and Steger played five minutes with two field goal attempts.
- Jason Asemota flourished in the home-opener against The Citadel (11/6), grabbing a career-high nine points and adding four rebounds to lead all bench scorers.Â
- Chase Forte swatted a career-high three blocks against Central Connecticut State (11/11).
- Aidan Shaw secured a career-high 14 rebounds and matched a career-high in blocks (5) against Temple (11/15). He became the first BC player to record five or more blocks since Quinten Post did against Louisville (2/13/24).
- Shaw dished a career-high three assists against Hampton (11/18).
- Jayden Hastings grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds and registered his first career double-double (11p/10r) against Davidson (11/21).
- Luka Toews recorded a career-high 21 points and six 3pt field goals, and Caleb Steger scored a career-high 12 points in a win against FDU (12/22).
- Fred Payne scored a career-high 24 points against N.C. State (1/6), adding seven made field goals and three three pointers.
- Hastings tallied a career-high six block against No. 22 Clemson (1/13).
SIZZLING STREAKS
- Fred Payne has scored double-digit figures in 13 of his last 15 games. He has surpassed 15 points in eight games of that streak, with his most recent display of 22 points coming against Louisville.
- Payne has also surpassed 20+ points in four of his last five starts. His highest tally came in the ACC Home Opener against N.C. State, where he scored a career-high 24 points.
- Donald Hand Jr. has reached double digit scoring numbers in eight of his last nine appearances. The redshirt-junior has surpassed 10+ points in all but three games this season.
- Aidan Shaw rode a five game streak with at least one block. His season-best mark came against Temple (5).
- Shaw also rode a seven game streak of at least eight rebounds per game. The stretch saw Shaw surpass 10+ rebounds on multiple occasions, including a career-high 14 rebounds against Temple.
NEWCOMER IMPACT
- The freshmen tandem of Radunovic and Steger have combined for 6.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per game.Â
- Boden Kapke, Chase Forte, Jason Asemota, and Aidan Shaw are making their presence known on Chestnut Hill. The quadruple is averaging a combined 21.1 points, 16.4 rebounds, 4.1 assists, 2.64 blocks and 2.0 steals per game.
- Individually, Shaw leads the team in rebounds (6.9), and Forte ranks first on the team in steals (1.1).
