Lacrosse Aims for National Semifinals Trip

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse aims for an eighth straight trip to the NCAA Semifinals when it faces No. 7 seed Yale at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Newton Lacrosse Field.Â

Last Time Out
BC fended off Stony Brook with a 10-7 triumph over Stony Brook on Sunday. A 6-0 start for the Eagles set the tone early, with Emma LoPinto scoring three during the surge. Stony Brook responded in the second quarter by slicing the gap to four with three minutes left in the half. Devon Russell sent the hosts into the break with a 7-2 halftime lead after a buzzer-beating free-position score. The Seawolves continued to climb back in the third, going on a 4-1 run to come within two, 8-6, late in the fourth. Clark stopped the momentum by scoring BC's final two goals, fending off the Seawolves for a 15th straight win at home when hosting the NCAA Tournament.

The senior attacker earned her first weekly award of the season after scoring three goals with one assist and four points against Stony Brook. LoPinto also tallied a caused turnover and two ground balls.Â
Pair of Eagles Named Tewaaraton Finalists
Clark and Dolce were named as two of the five finalists for the Tewaaraton award, given to the nation's best lacrosse players. It's the first time since 2023 (Jenn Medjid) an Eagle was named a finalist and the first time two players made the final five in program history. The duo is the sixth and seventh players to make it to Washington. Clark is the fourth attacker from BC to be in the top five for the award, while Dolce is the first goaltender since 2021 to included in the top five.Â

BC tied for the team lead with the most selections among the 34 players that made the list.Three Eagles made the first and second teams while two made honorable mention.

Scouting Yale
Yale defeated Syracuse in the second round last week, 9-8. Jenna Collignon netted a hat trick in the final frame to help rally the Bulldogs for the win. Fallon Vaughn leads the team with 75 points thanks to 47 goals and 28 assists. She is one of four players with at least 50 points, while Niamh Pfaff and Cami Donadio each have started nine games in the cage, with Pfaff posting 79 saves and a 10-2 record.Â
What's Next
With a win, the Eagles would face the winner of Penn and Northwestern in the national semifinals next week in Gillette.Â
