Lacrosse Battles Stony Brook in NCAA Second Round

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse will face Stony Brook on Sunday at 12 p.m. in Alumni Stadium in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

About the Eagles
Last Time Out
North Carolina pulled out a 14-12 win in the ACC title two weeks ago against the Eagles. BC held an 11-9 lead after back-to-back goals by Kylee Colbert and Rachel Clark, but a 5-1 spurt by the Tar Heels was the difference. Molly Driscoll and Mia Mascone netted hat tricks, while Clark and Mckenna Davis totaled four points in the setback. Shea Dolce, Shea Baker and Clark were named to the ACC All-Tournament Team.
A Win Would
- Send the Eagles to the quarterfinals.

The Eagles have done an excellent job in showcasing resilience when coming off a loss, as they are 29-1 since the 2017 campaign, with the lone loss coming in the 2020 season opener after the 2019 national championship setback. Boston College has not lost back-to-back games in the regular season since 2016.
Pair of Eagles Named Tewaaraton Finalists
Clark and Dolce were named as two of the five finalists for the Tewaaraton award, given to the nation's best lacrosse players. It's the first time since 2023 (Jenn Medjid) an Eagle was named a finalist and the first time two players made the final five in program history. The duo is the sixth and seventh players to make it to Washington. Clark is the fourth attacker from BC to be in the top five for the award, while Dolce is the first goaltender since 2021 to included in the top five.

Stony Brook is coming off an 11-8 win over Loyola in the opening round on Friday. Courtney Maclay scored six goals in the win, while Isabella Caporuscio netted a hat trick. Natalia Altebrando made eight saves in the win. Charlotte Wilmoth leads the team with 90 points (62 goals, 28 goals), while Casey Colbert has 77 points thanks to a team-high 55 assists and 22 goals. SBU is sixth in the nation in scoring defense (8.75) and sixth in scoring margin (6.25).
Series History
BC owns a 4-1 mark in the all-time series, while both teams have one win against each other in the postseason. The Eagles and Seawolves face each other for the first time since the 2018 season in the NCAA Tournament.
