Eagles Drop Game Two to Clemson

The series finale is set for tomorrow at 12:00 p.m.
CLEMSON, S.C. – Boston College Softball (19-23, 4-13 ACC) fell to the Clemson University Tigers (37-11, 16-4 ACC) by a score of 8-3 on Friday evening at McWhorter Stadium.
The Eagles jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning after Emma Jackson scored after Hannah Slike reached base on a fielding error. In the second inning, Jackson drove in Janis Espinoza with a stand up double for her 18th RBI of the season to put BC up by two runs.
In the top of the third inning, Hannah Slike went deep for her second home run of the season, driving the ball 233 feet over the left field wall, putting the Eagles up by three runs. The hosts got on the board in the bottom of the inning to make things 3-1, before putting up a four-run bottom of the fourth to give the Tigers a 5-3 lead, their first lead of the ballgame.Â
In the bottom of the sixth inning, Clemson would add three more runs to make the score 8-3. In the top of the seventh, Zoe Hines drove in Slike with an RBI single, but the Eagles were unable to mount a comeback, giving the Tigers the 8-4 victory in game two of the series.Â
