
No. 2 Eagles Hosts No. 11 Cavaliers for Senior Day

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse aims for a bounce-back win against No. 11 Virginia in the regular-season home finale on Senior Day at 12 p.m. on ESPNU. Saturday's contest is also the Pink Game and Alumni Day.Â

The Eagles will recognize Mikaela Rix and her family before the game on Saturday in support of the fight against cancer and spread awareness. In addition, it also Alumni Day.Â
Senior Day
Boston College will honor its nine seniors following the game against the Cavaliers. The group has been a part of 72 wins

The Eagles suffered a narrow 12-11 loss to No. 2 UNC on Saturday. It was a 9-9 tie going into the final period until Rachel Clark scored her second goal to give the Eagles a 10-9 lead with just under 10 remaining. North Carolina responded with three straight to claim a 12-10 lead late in the contest before Emma LoPinto found Clark to slice the deficit to one. BC had a chance to tie up the contest with 18 seconds remaining, but a turnover sealed the win for the Tar Heels. Mia Mascone and Clark led the Eagles with a hat tricks, while Molly Driscoll posted one goal and two assists. Shea Dolce made 11 saves for her sixth double-digit game of the season in saves.Â

Bouncing Back
The Eagles have done an excellent job in showcasing resilience when coming off a loss, as they are 28-1 since the 2017 campaign, with the lone loss coming in the 2020 season opener after the 2019 national championship setback. Boston College has yet to lose back-to-back games in the regular season since 2016.Â

Series History
The Eagles are 10-14 in the series but are 8-1 over the last nine. UVA snapped the Eagles' eight-game win streak in the series last season in overtime with a 13-12 win in Charlottesville. LoPinto paced the offense with three goals and two assists in the setback.Â
