
BC Cruises Past LIU and Indiana State

Kelly Colleran and Shannon MacLeod both picked up their first collegiate wins
Fort Myers, Fla. - The Boston College softball team had a productive day on the field today, beating LIU 2-0 and Indiana State University 8-2, to finish off the weekend 3-2.Â
LIU GameÂ
Kelly Colleran was in the circle again for the Eagles as she picked up her first collegiate win, giving up only three hits and striking out five over seven innings of work, only throwing 76 pitches.
BC scored both runs in the fourth inning behind two sacrifice flies from Emma Jackson and Jordan Stephens. Zoe Hines and Maycee Hilt each recorded hits on offense.Â
Indiana State University GameÂ
Shannon MacLeod made her first start for the Eagles in game two and also notched her first collegiate win, pitching a complete game while tossing four strikeouts and giving up only two earned runs, both in the first inning.
BC's offense started hot as Zoe Hines drove in Gator Robinson with a double, followed by an RBI single from Hannah Slike. The Eagles added on in the fourth inning thanks to a home run over the center field wall from Jordan Stephens.
Boston College opened up the game in the bottom of the fifth, as Hannah Slike drove in Gator Robinson with a single, followed by Zoe Hines scoring on a wild pitch, Emma Jackson driving in Tavye Borders with a single, and finally Makenna Segal scoring Katelyn Deguire on a sacrifice fly, making the score 7-2. Abby Ptak made the score 8-2 in the sixth in her first collegiate at bat, driving in Janis Espinoza with a sacrifice fly.
The Eagles finished the weekend 3-2 and turn their attention to the University of Florida tournament next weekend, where they will face Florida twice, Duke, Providence College, and Binghamton University.
