
No. 1 Lacrosse Starts Season with Dominant Performance

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's lacrosse began the 2025 season with a dominating 21-7 win over No. 8 Loyola Maryland on Friday afternoon in Fish Field House.
The Eagles begin the season 1-0 for the fifth straight year, while the Greyhounds fall to 0-1.
Boston College got it done on both ends of the field, as nine different Eagles scored in the win and BC recorded 13 caused turnovers with 12 ground balls. Nine players also registered at least one CT in the victory.
Lydia Colasante registered a career-high four caused turnovers with three ground balls and a goal. Devon Russell, who was making her first collegiate start, caused a pair of CT's with two draw controls, one ground ball and her first career goal.
Shea Dolce made eight saves and a solid .533 save percentage against an offense that ranked 10th in the country in scoring offense last season. Abbey Herod and Shea Baker led the team with four draw controls.
BC wasted no time in getting off to a quick start on offense, surging to a 5-0 lead in the first 5:44 of the contest. Mckenna Davis helped the start with an assist and a goal in the first two scores of the game. Rachel Clark and Emma LoPinto scored three of the goals along with Colasante.
The Eagles continued their strong momentum, as Clark and LoPinto took over on offense with all seven goals, pushing the lead to 12-2 at the half. The senior duo scored 10 of their combined 13 goals in the first half.
Loyola Maryland went on an early 3-1 run in the third period before three straight by Russell, Molly Driscoll and Kylee Colbert scored three straight to stretch the lead back to double digits.
BC cruised the rest of the way in the final quarter, with Giulia Colarusso and LoPinto scoring the final two goals of the game to give BC a 20-score outing.
Clark tallied a BC career-high seven goals, while LoPinto carded six in the win. Davis tallied a team-high two assists with three points, while Driscoll tallied a personal-high three points.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday at 12 p.m. against BU on the road.
