No. 13 Eagles Close out 2025 with Victory over Lake Superior State
December 29, 2025 | Men's Hockey
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The No. 13/13 Boston College men's hockey team closed out the 2025 calendar year with a 4-3 win over Lake Superior State on Monday evening in the Kwik Trip Holiday Face-Off at Fiserv Forum. Will Vote lit the lamp twice, with Dean Letourneau and Will Moore each finding the back of the net. Drew Fortescue, Oscar Hemming and Jake Sondreal all finished with two assists each. Jan Korec backstopped the Eagle defense with 19 saves.
Â
Boston College improves to 11-6-1 overall while Lake Superior State is now 6-13-1.
Â
The Eagles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, scoring two goals just 90 seconds apart late in the first period. Letourneau opened the scoring, coming onto the ice and immediately firing home a shot off a feed from Gavin Cornforth. Just 98 seconds later, Oscar Hemming found Moore right in front of the net on a power play for the redirect to push the lead to two.
Â
The Lakers scored the next three goals, one in the second and two early in the third, to take a 3-2 lead.
Â
After Lake Superior State took the lead, the Eagles immediately responded less than one minute later when Vote scored his first goal of the night. Hemming led a breakout and found Vote at the net front, where the junior calmly tucked it into the top shelf to tie the game at 3-3.
Â
Using the momentum after the equalizer, BC took the lead for good after Vote hit a one-timer from close range off a pass from Aram Minnetian.
Â
The Lakers tested the Eagle defense in the final few minutes, going on a 5v3 power play and ultimately pulling their goalie for a 6v3. The Boston College defense swarmed the middle and prevented the Lakers from getting a clean look at goal, sealing the win.
