CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 13/13 Boston College men's hockey team defeated Stonehill 8-2 in an exhibition game on Friday night at Kelley Rink to open up the 2026 half of the season.
Â
Seven Eagles scored in the 8-2 victory led by Dean Letourneau with two of his own. Lukas Gustafsson got the team rolling with James Hagens, Teddy Stiga, Jake Sondreal, Luka Radivojevic and Michael Hagens adding a goal each. J. Hagens and Stiga added two assists to finish with three points each, while Aram Minnetian and Will Skahan also chipped in two assists.
Â
Louka Cloutier, Jan Korec, and Alex Musielak combined to make 30 saves between the pipes.
Â
The Eagles jumped out to an early 3-0 lead inside the opening 10 minutes of the first period. Just 2:35 into the game, Gustafsson skated through several Stonehill defenders before slotting home a shot past the goaltender to put Boston College in front 1-0. Minutes later, the Eagles won a faceoff in the offensive zone and Skahan found J. Hagens for the slap shot into the bottom left corner to double the lead.
Â
The third goal came from J. Hagens to Stiga off a power play, slipping the puck through the top corner of the net. Sondreal added another on a power play toward the end of the opening period to give the Eagles a 4-0 lead before the Skyhawks added their first goal of the night to close the period.
Â
Boston College wasted little time to grab its first goal of the second period, scoring on the power play just 1:50 into the middle frame. Stiga and J. Hagens connected with each other before Hagens found Radivojevic for the one-timer from the left faceoff circle to push the BC lead back to four.
Â
The Eagles added two more in the second period around the midway point. Brady Berard found M. Hagens at the back post for a tap-in. Just over a minute later, Gustafsson fired a shot from the point that Letourneau tipped from out in front of the goal.
Â
Stonehill scored a power play goal of their own in the third period.
Letourneau capped the scoring late in the third period with a short-handed goal.
