Eagles face Tigers for fist time in program history
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass – Following a win over Harvard on Thanksgiving Eve, BC opens December play hosting LSU on Wednesday, December 3 for the ACC/SEC Men's Challenge. Tip-off is set for 7:15 p.m. and is available to watch on ACCN.
BOSTON COLLEGE VS. LSU - ALL-TIME SERIES
- Wednesday marks the inaugural meeting between BC and LSU.
- LSU is one of eight teams from the SEC that BC has yet to play in program history.
- Both teams face off as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge. LSU took a 10-point win over Florida State, while BC fell to South Carolina.
BOSTON COLLEGE vs. SOUTHEASTERN CONFERENCE
- The Eagles are 13-13 all-time vs. current SEC teams.
- Boston College's most recent contest came against South Carolina in last season's ACC/SEC Challenge. The Eagles fell 73-51 at Conte Forum, where Donald Hand Jr. registered 10 points and seven rebounds.
- LSU will be the only representative from the SEC that BC faces this season.
LAST TIME OUT
- Boston College returned to Chestnut Hill for a midweek contest against Harvard. The Eagles came out on top with a fell 73-60 win.
- Three players reached double figures, led by Fred Payne's 17 points. He logged a season high seven made field goals, going 3-for-6 from behind the arc. Caleb Steger also logged a career-high nine points off the bench, drilling three corner threes to push the Eagles to a victory.
- Payne extended his scoring streak, while Shaw recorded his fifth straight game with at least one block.
EDGERLEY FAMILY COURT
- The basketball court at Silvio O. Conte Forum will officially be named the Edgerley Family Court starting this season.
- The Edgerley's are active members of the Parents Leadership Council and are supporters of undergraduate financial aid at Boston College, having co-chaired Pops on the Heights in 2023 and 2024.
- Sandra Edgerley serves on the Boston College Board of Trustees, where she is a member of the Academic Affairs Committee. Paul Edgerley is a senior advisor at Bain Capital, where he was a managing director and played a leadership role for more than 30 years.
- The court is a lasting symbol of the Edgerleys' commitment to enhancing the tradition of excellence at Boston College.

- Boston College is 1-4 all-time when playing on December 3. The most recent contest was played last year against South Carolina in the ACC/SEC Challenge, where BC lost 73-51.

RISINGÂ ABOVE THE CROWD
- Boston College is making their mark nationally through the first eight games this season.
- Defensively, the Eagles rank 24th in the nation and third in the ACC in blocks per game (5.5). Shaw is 44th in the nation and fourth in the ACC individually in total blocks (14) and Hastings ranks eighth (10). The team also holds the 46th best scoring defense (65.6).
- BC is cleaning up the boards efficiently, collecting 40.9 boards per game, good for 57th in the NCAA. The team is also taking care of the ball, allowing just 9.6 turnovers per game. That mark ranks 29th in the nation and third in the ACC.
DEFENDING THE HILL
- Boston College has defended home court through four games, holding a 3-1 record on the Edgerley Family Court.
- The Eagles are holding opponents to 54.8 points per game and limiting them to 36.3% from the field and 24.8% from behind the arc.
- At least two BC players have scored in double figures in each home contest this season. The team had three in its most recent home win against Harvard on Nov. 26.
MAKING THE LEAP - FRED PAYNE
- In his second full season with BC, Fred Payne has made improvements on both sides of the ball.
- Payne has seen increases in points (+6.0), rebounds (+0.9), assists (+1.8) across the first eight games.
- His field goal shooting has been more efficient, seeing a +4.0% increase from his numbers in 2024-25.
- Defensively, the redshirt-sophomore has doubled his steal (8) and block (2) count in the same number of games played.
- Using the PAR/G metric (points+assists+rebounds/game), Payne has jumped +8.7 year-over-year.
- Payne leads the team with six double digit games.
CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS
- Boden Kapke logged a career-high 17 points, and Fred Payne dished a career-high seven assists against FAU (11/3).
- Marko Radunovic and Caleb Steger made their collegiate debuts against FAU. Radunovic recorded eight points, going 2-3 from behind the arc, and Steger played five minutes with two field goal attempts.
- Jason Asemota flourished in the home-opener against The Citadel (11/6), grabbing a career-high nine points and adding four rebounds to lead all bench scorers.
- Chase Forte swatted a career-high three blocks against Central Connecticut State (11/11).
- Aidan Shaw secured a career-high 14 rebounds and matched a career-high in blocks (5) against Temple (11/15). He became the first BC player to record five or more blocks since Quinten Post did against Louisville (2/13/24).
- Shaw dished a career-high three assists against Hampton (11/18).
- Hastings grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds and registered his first career double-double (11p/10r) against Davidson (11/21).
- Caleb Steger recorded career-highs in points (9) and 3pt field goals (3) against Harvard (11/25).
SIZZLING STREAKS
- Fred Payne currently rides a five game streak of double digit scoring. His season best 17 points against CCSU and Temple kickstarted that streak, with his most recent display of 17 points coming against Harvard.
- Aidan Shaw is on a five game streak with at least one block. His season-best mark came against Temple (14).
- Shaw also rode a seven game streak of at least eight rebounds per game. The stretch saw Shaw surpass 10+ rebounds on multiple occasions, including a career-high 14 rebounds against Temple.
INSTANT IMPACT
- The freshmen tandem of Radunovic and Steger have translated well through the first two games, combining for 6.1 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 0.6 assists per game.
- Kapke, Chase Forte, Jason Asemota, and Aidan Shaw are making their presence known on Chestnut Hill. The quadruple is averaging a combined 27.9 points, 18.0 rebounds, 10.5 assists, 6.5 blocks and 1.9 steals per game.
- Individually, Shaw leads the team in rebounds (8.9), and Forte ranks first on the team in assists (3.3) and steals (1.1).
