Men's Basketball Hosts The Citadel for 2025-26 Home Opener

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – After opening the 2025-26 season in Florida, Boston College returns to the Edgerley Family Court at Conte Forum to host The Citadel for the home opener Thursday evening. Tip off is set for 7 p.m. (ET).

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. THE CITADEL - ALL-TIME SERIES
- Thursday marks the third all-time meeting between BC and the Citadel. Boston College holds a 2-0 series lead.
- The Eagles hosted the Bulldogs in last year's season opener, taking a 69-60 victory. Donald Hand Jr. led the way with 22 points and 10 rebounds for his first career double-double.
- BC has outscored The Citadel 144-131 across both previous contests.
BOSTON COLLEGE vs. THE SOUTHERN CONFERENCE
- The Eagles are 6-0 all-time vs. current SoCon teams.
- The Citadel was the lone SoCon team Boston College played last season.
- Before 2022-23, the last time BC played a current SoCon team was in 2007 against Mercer (11/18/07). Tyrese Rice scored a game-high 19 points in the 73-56 victory.
- Boston College has defended its home court fiercely, posting an outstanding 72-15 (.828) record.
- Earl Grant has won every home opener as head coach at Boston College.
- The Eagles won their home opener from 1973-1997 (24 seasons), the longest stretch in program history.
- BC hosted The Citadel in last season's home opener.
- The basketball court at Silvio O. Conte Forum will officially be named the Edgerley Family Court starting this season.
- The Edgerley's are active members of the Parents Leadership Council and are supporters of undergraduate financial aid at Boston College, having co-chaired Pops on the Heights in 2023 and 2024.
- Sandra Edgerley serves on the Boston College Board of Trustees, where she is a member of the Academic Affairs Committee. Paul Edgerley is a senior advisor at Bain Capital, where he was a managing director and played a leadership role for more than 30 years.
- The court is a lasting symbol of the Edgerleys' commitment to enhancing the tradition of excellence at Boston College.
- Boston College fell 83-78 in overtime to Florida Atlantic in Monday's season-opener. Hand Jr. led the way with a game-high 20 points, along with seven boards.
- Boden Kapke logged a career-high 17 points, and Fred Payne dished a career-high seven assists against FAU.
- Marko Radunovic and Caleb Steger made their collegiate debuts. Radunovic recorded eight points, going 2-3 from behind the arc, and Steger played five minutes with two field goal attempts.
- Kapke, Chase Forte, Jason Asemota, and Aidan Shaw made their BC debuts. The quadruple combined for 35 points, 25 rebounds, five assists, and five blocks.
- Several players rank inside the top 20 of the ACC through the first game of action.
- Hand Jr. is tied for 11th in points per game (20.0)
- Kapke ranks tied for 14th in rebounds per game (8.0) and 3-PT field goal percentage (.750).
- Payne is one of six players in the ACC to record seven assists and one of 15 players to have three steals.
- Payne, Hand Jr., and Forte all rank in the top ten in minutes played.
- Boston College is 2-0 all-time when playing on November 6. The Eagles most recently defeated Fairfield, 89-70, in their 2023-24 season opener.
- November 6 marks National Basketball Day to honor James Naismith, the inventor of basketball.
- Notable events to occur on November 6 include - Abraham Lincoln being elected the 16th President of the United States (1860); "Meet the Press", the longest running TV show in US history, debuts on NBC (1947); Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the fourth film in the book series, premiers and becomes of the most successful film of the year (2005); Barack Obama is re-elected as US President (2012).
- Boston College will face 13 non-conference opponents from a possible nine different conferences in 2025-26.
