Eagles Grab 73-60 Thanksgiving Eve Win Over Harvard

Payne, Hand Jr. and Steger all log three three-point makes
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — Boston College closed out the month of November with a 73-60 win against Harvard on the Edgerley Family Court at Conte Forum on Wednesday afternoon. Fred Payne led the Eagles with 17 points, with Jayden Hastings and Boden Kapke adding 10 points each.
FIRST HALF
- Payne and Forte traded three pointers to open scoring for the Eagles.
- Payne added his second trey off an inbounds with 1.8 seconds. He would finish the first half 5-for-7 from the field, draining three three-pointers.
- 11-0 run starting at 8:15. Hastings led the charge with six points, including a slam dunk to stretch BC's advantage to 34-20.
- Harvard cut its deficit to six before layups from Kapke and Payne brought it back to double digits.
- The Eagles hit six three-pointers in the first half.
- BC led 38-30 at the break.
SECOND HALF
- The Crimson opened the half with five straight makes. Hand Jr. answered with back-to-back threes to open the Eagles' scoring.
- BC then went on an 11-0 scoring run to regain a double-digit lead. Kapke drained four free throws, and Shaw hammered down a dunk to make it 55-44.
- Steger was a spark off the bench, scoring a career-high nine points. He hit back-to-back corner threes to give BC a 66-48 lead with 7:55 remaining.
- The Eagles would hold on for a 73-60 win.
NOTABLES
- Fred Payne logged a career high seven field goals made and scored his season-high 17 points for the third time this season.
- Caleb Steger recorded a career-high in points (9) and 3pt field goals (3).
- Tonight marks the first time BC has recorded back-to-back wins against Harvard since 2015.

- Boston College stays home to host LSU on Wednesday, December 3, as part of the ACC/SEC Challenge.
- Tip-off is set for 7:15Â p.m. (ET) and can be seen live on ACCN.
