Gator Robinson Delivers, Walks off Louisville to Clinch Series

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.– The Boston College Softball program rallied from a two-run deficit and walked-off Louisville Saturday afternoon, to take the series, with Gator Robinson hitting the game-winning RBI single to right side.
The Cardinals struck early adding two runs in the top of the first inning, off of two RBI singles.Â
The Eagles got runners on second and and first in the third, when Nicole Giery hit an RBI single.Â
BC and Louisville exchanged runs in the fifth, with Makenna Segal hitting an RBI sacrifice fly.
In the bottom of the seventh, with two outs on the board an Emma Jackson double tied the game.
The winning run in the bottom of the eighth, with two runners on first and second, and two outs on the board, Gator Robinson delivered, hitting an RBI single to close-out the game.
Abby Dunning turned in a strong four innings of work, striking out four. Halie Pappion entered the circle in the fifth, dishing two innings. Pappion got the win, striking out five, allowing just two hits.Â
The series victory secures a spot in the ACC tournament for the Eagles.
The Eagles will look to sweep the series against Louisville this Sunday at noon at the Harrington Athletics Village.Â
