Track Set to Compete at NCAA East Regionals

Six Eagles will represent Boston College at the 2024 NCAA East First Rounds
LEXINGTON, Ky. – Marie Bilo, Aoife Dunne, Sarah Flynn, Molly Hudson, Emma Tavella, and Steven Jackson are set to compete at the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field East First Rounds this Wednesday (May 22) through Saturday (May 25) in Lexington, Ky. at the University of Kentucky Track and Field Complex.Â
NCAA East First RoundsÂ
The top-48 declared athletes were accepted into preliminary competitions for each individual event. The athletes will first compete in the first round of their events, looking to qualify and move on to the quarter-final round on Friday and Saturday.Â
Boston College will have six total athletes competing over the course of the four-day regional meet. Marie Bilo, Aoife Dunne, Sarah Flynn, and Molly Hudson will race in the Women's 1500m, while Steven Jackson will compete in the Men's 1500m. Emma Tavella will take part in the Women's 3,000m Steeplechase on Saturday. Bilo, Dunne, Flynn, Hudson, and Jackson will all first compete in the first round and will look to earn a spot in the quarterfinal round. Tavella will compete in the Quarterfinal round, looking to earn a spot in the NCAA Championship meet.Â
Scheduled start times for the Eagles:
Wednesday, May 22
6:30 p.m. - Men's 1500m (Steven Jackson)
Thursday, May 23
6:30 p.m. - Women's 1500m (Marie Bilo, Aoife Dunne, Sarah Flynn, and Molly Hudson )
Saturday, May 25
5:40 p.m. - Women's 3,000m Steeplechase (Emma Tavella)
The running events are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.Â
