Eagles Late Rally Defeats Pitt

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-- The Boston College softball program defeated Pittsburgh 3-2, Sunday afternoon at the Harrington Athletics Village, in the last game of the series.Â
The Eagle, Panther match-up begin Saturday night at 6:00 p.m in the rain. Pitt added on two runs in the first off of a two-run home run. BC answered with two strikes on the board Makenna Segal hit a two-run homer to tie the score. The weather caused a game postponement till Sunday at noon.
The game resumed in the bottom of the first and remained evenly matched. The Eagles were able to break the stalemate in the sixth. Elisabeth Laviolette got the momentum going for BC landing on first. Hannah Slike singled, advancing Laviolette to second. A Nicole Giery ground out moved both runners. A Segal fly out allowed Laviolette through home plate, taking the lead 3-2. Pitt was unable to respond in the next two innings. Moving the Eagles record to 24-13 and 5-7 in the ACC.
The Eagles return to action Wednesday to face-off Bryant at 4:00 p.m., in the Harrington Athletics Village.Â
