Bats Stay Hot and Defeat Bryant in Five Innings

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.-- The Boston College Softball program defeated the Bryant Bulldogs, 9-0, Wednesday afternoon. The Eagles secured the victory in five innings off of a walk off home run to complete the game.Â
The Eagles got the momentum going early in the first inning. A Hannah Slike two-run homer, gave the Eagles an early 2-0 lead. Nicole Giery added another run on a throwing error, and Hilt scored on an Emma Jackson single. BC closed out the first inning 4-0.Â
The scoring continued in the third and fourth adding on one run in each. A Makenna Segal fly out brought Giery home, and Jackson was able to score on a throwing error.Â
The Eagles were able to complete the shut out, in the fifth inning adding on three runs. A Meghan Schouten RBI double and a Maycee Hilt two-run, walk-off homer closed the game.
The Eagles return to ACC action Friday at 6:00 p.m., to face-off #16 Virginia Tech at the Tech Softball Park, for a three game series over the weekend.Â
