Eagles Drop Doubleheader to Pitt

Eagle Look to Saturday for the Last Game of the Series against Pittsburgh
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.--Â The Boston College softball program fell in both games against the Panthers Friday afternoon at the Harrington Athletics Village. The Eagles record moves to 23-13, and 4-7 in the ACC.Â
The Boston College softball program fell in the first match-up with the Panthers, 4-0. Pitt added two runs in both the fourth and fifth inning.Â
The Panthers' runs were added on by two 2-run homers. Delivered by Amanda Ramirez and Kat Rodriguez, each bringing through one runner on base. The Eagles were unable to respond, remaining scoreless.
The action continued in the second game of the day. The Panthers got on the board early in the second with two home runs taking an early 2-0 lead.Â
The Eagles quickly responded in the bottom of the second tying the score, 2-2. Emma Jackson reached first on a fielding error bringing Elisabeth Laviolette through home plate. Maycee Hilt added another for the Eagles on a sacrifice fly bringing Tannis Jackin across the plate.Â
The Eagles took the lead in the third off of a Shields RBI, 3-2. The Panthers in the top of the fifth tied the score once again. In the bottom of the sixth with Makenna Segal up to bat, a career first home run provided the Eagles the lead. Pitt closed out the game in the top of the seventh with a 2-run homer securing the victory, 5-4.
The Eagles return to action tomorrow at 6 p.m. in the last game of the series against Pittsburgh at the Harrington Athletics Village.
