
Eagles Close Regular Season With Two Meets

Boston College wraps up regular season while competing at Jay Carisella Coaches Invite and Virginia High Performance
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The Boston College Men's and Women's Track and Field teams wrapped up the regular season with two meets over the weekend of Apr. 27-28. The Eagles competed at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational on Saturday, while also competing at the Virginia High Performance meet on Sunday.Â
Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational
The Eagles traveled to Dedham, Mass. to compete at the Jay Carisella Coaches Invitational on Apr. 27, hosted by Northeastern University at Solomon Outdoor Track.Â
Colin Shaver led the way for the Eagles on the Men's side, placing first overall in the Men's 1500m with a time of (3:56.48). The Eagles had four other runners in the top-six in the 1500m, with Sam Ellis (3:56.98) placing second, Nick Loffredo (3:59.87) placing third, Eero Helenius (4:01.58) placing fourth, and Ryan Beegle (4:10.84) finishing sixth overall.Â
Sean Fortunato placed first overall in the Men's 5000m, while Aidan Brancaccio finished second in the Men's 3000m Steeplechase. Sean Coll was the lone Eagle on the Men's side to participate in a field event, placing second overall in the Men's Javelin throw.Â
Colin Kravitz earned two second place finishes in the Men's 200m and 400m, while Stephen Colleran placed top-five in each event as well.Â
Sophie Albright secured the only first place finish on the Women's side, earning a meet-best mark of 1.65m in Women's High Jump.Â
Yaroslava Yalysovetska placed second in the Women's 400m Hurdles with a time of 1:00.71.Â
Freshmen Anna Sonsini, Anna Becker, and Kyla Palmer made their mark at the meet on Saturday, combining for five top-five placements. Anna Sonsini (12.14) finished second overall in the Women's 100m, while also placing third in the Women's 200m with a time of 24.67. Anna Becker (56.33) finished second in the Women's 400m, while coming in fifth in the Women's 200m with her time of 24.96. Kyla Palmer crossed the finish line in fourth place in the Women's 400m with a time of 57.70.

Virginia High Performance
The Eagles wrapped up the weekend by competing at the Virginia High Performance meet on Sunday, Apr. 28 in Charlottesville, Va. on the campus of the University of Virginia.Â
Boston College competed in the Women's 800m, and Men's and Women's 1500m on Sunday night.Â
Steven Jackson showed up in the Men's 1500m and left with a first place finish with a time of 3:41.72. Jackson's time is now good for his personal career best as an Eagle.Â
The Eagles had all five participants in the Women's 1500m place top-10. Aoife Dunne (4:19.53) and Sarah Flynn (4:20.59) led the way for BC placing third and fourth overall. Molly Hudson (4:21.49) placed seventh, while Lily Flynn (4:22.09) and Emma Tavella (4:25.63) finished seventh and ninth.Â
Marie Bilo placed fourth overall in the Women's 800m with her time of 2:05.72, while Molly Hudson (2:06.00) placed fifth.Â
