
Three Eagles Named Top 25 Tewaaraton Finalists

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Three Boston College lacrosse players were named Top 25 Tewaaraton finalists on Wednesday, as the organization rounded its list down.Â
Belle Smith, Sydney Scales, and Rachel Clark represent BC on the most prestigious awards list in lacrosse. The Eagles are one of three schools with Michigan and Northwestern to have three players on the list, while it's the most in the ACC.Â
Clark has been nothing short of stellar in her first season with Boston College, where she is first on the team with 55 goals and 67 points. Clark is second in the ACC and 10th in the country in goals and first in the conference and ninth in goals per game (3.93).Â
The Devon, Pa. native has nine games with at least five points and 11 hat tricks including five games with five or more goals.Â
Scales continues to anchor the defense, where she leads the way with 21 caused turnovers and is fourth with 18 ground balls. The senior defender is fourth in the ACC in caused turnovers per game this season (4.75). She has five games with multiple CTs and four with three or more.Â
Smith is getting it done on both ends of the field, registering 29 goals, 12 assists, 41 points, 15 ground balls, 10 caused turnovers and a career-high 32 draw controls. The best two-way middie in lacrosse has at least three points in eight contests.Â
The New York native is tied for fourth all-time with 272 points and is sixth with 183 goals and 89 assists. She is coming on strong down the stretch with eight goals, nine points, two ground balls and six draw controls over the previous three games.Â
The trio of Eagles will end the regular season this evening at 5 p.m. against No. 5 Syracuse.Â
