
Eagles Win Battle of Commonwealth Ave in Convincing Fashion

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College lacrosse rolled past Boston University with a convincing 23-5 triumph against Boston University in the Battle of Commonwealth Avenue in Fish Field House on Wednesday afternoon.Â
The Eagles are 7-1 following the win, combining for a 43-12 score in the last two wins. BU falls to 4-1.Â
It was another offensive outburst reaching the 20-goal plateau for the fourth time this season. Mckenna Davis registered a game-high six points (1 G, 5 A), becoming the fifth player in school history to reach 100-career assists.Â
Rachel Clark turned in four goals and a helper for five points of her own. Kayla Martello recorded a season-high five points (4 G, 1 A) and Emma LoPinto fired in four goals in the win. A total of 11 Eagles scored in the victory, with six finding the back of the net twice.Â
BC didn't waste any time getting started, as Cassidy Weeks and Davis scored within the first minute of the contest to give their squad a commanding lead. The Eagles reeled off a 10-0 cushion going into the second quarter after seven different Eagles scored.Â
The Eagles reeled off four more goals, including scores by Molly Driscoll and Ryan Smith that led BC to a 14-0 lead before BU scored for the first time. BC went into the half with a 14-1 advantage going into the half.Â
The hosts kept its offensive output up, tacking on nine more in the second half. Kylee Colbert scored once with Driscoll scoring once more. Brooke McLoy found the back of the net twice and Annabelle Hasselbeck tallying a goal.Â
Sydney Scales caused a season-high four turnovers, leading the defense that caused a season-high 15. Julia Greene and Colbert caused two turnovers as well. Shea Dolce earned the win between the cage, while Emily English stopped two shots and Maddy Manahan also saw action in the net. Lydia Colasante was one of three players with two ground balls.Â
BC returns to ACC play this weekend when it travels to Louisville for a Noon matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday.Â
