BC scores second-most runs of the season ahead of ACC opener on Friday
The Eagles surrendered two in the opening frame, but took the lead in the second inning and didn't look back. Patrick Roche (Milton, Mass.) put BC up 3-2 on a two-RBI single through the left side, as a part of a 2-for-4 effort with a double, three RBI, two runs scored.
UNC Wilmington threatened with home runs in the third and fifth, but the Eagles' bats responded courtesy of Cameron Leary (Bethpage, N.Y.), who hit his first home run of the day, and third of the season, to respond in the fourth inning. Leary followed it up with another long-ball in the eighth, driving it 411 feet deep over the right-center fence. Along with a catch to rob a near-home run at the wall, Leary finished a complete effort going 2-for-4 with two home runs and two RBI, taking the team lead in HR (4).
Five Eagles finished with multiple-hit efforts, with the offense scoring the second-most runs of the season, behind only their 17 runs scored at UT Arlington.
The Eagles struck out eighteen batters and get back in the win column ahead of their first ACC series this weekend at NC State.
