Eagles Rank 59th on D1Baseball Top 100 Programs
October 06, 2026 | Baseball
BRIGHTON, Mass. — The Boston College Baseball team has been ranked 59th on the latest D1Baseball Top 100 Programs list. In 2024, the last time the rankings were released, the Eagles ranked 78th, now jumping up 19 spots.
In the 2026 season, the Eagles broke out with a 37-23 overall and 17-13 conference record, the best under Head Coach Todd Interdonato, who took over the helm before the 2024 season. The Eagles 37 wins last season tied the program record, as the Maroon & Gold finished fourth in the ACC standings and made it to NCAA regionals, taking a game against Long Island University, 8-4.
The Eagles are bringing back the likes of shortstop Julio Solier, who hit for a slash line of .354/.434/.498 and a team-leading 84 hits in 2026. Luke Gallo hit to a .325 batting average and an .863 OPS. Ty Mainolfi hit .323 and had the second-most RBIs on the team in 2026 with 51. While, Colin Larson is coming off a strong summer in which he was awarded the John J. Claffey Award, given each year to the Cape League's Most Outstanding New England Player.
On the pitching side of things, the staff has been dominant so far in the fall season. Gavin Soares and Cesar Gonzalez pitched to a 2.96 and 3.22 ERA, respectively, out of the bullpen last season. The Eagles brought in four pitchers from the transfer portal, three of whom have starter experience.
The Eagles look to rely on their veteran presence and several new faces to truly make an impact in the 2027 season.
