Eagles Defeat FAU

BOCA RATON, Fla.-- Boston College defeated FAU with a 2-0 victory at the Joan Joyce Field, Thursday night. Pitcher Abby Dunning headlined the Eagles with 9 strikeouts on 24 batters, with two hits in seven innings of play.Â
Early in the bottom of the second with Sammy Horn on second base a ground out by Gator Robinson added one to the Eagles score. BC added one more at the top of the fifth. With one strike on the board a Nicole Giery double to center field advanced Jules Shield through home plate. The Owls were not able to respond, proving the Eagles victorious.Â
Dunning posted a stellar stat line, with nine strikeouts, one walk, and two hits. Dishing out 99 pitches behind the mound. Dunning started off hot, striking out four of the first seven batters faced. Â
The Eagles return to action tomorrow at 10 a.m. against Columbia.
