
Eagles Soar Past Lafayette in Season Opener

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College women's basketball earned a convincing 85-55 triumph over Lafayette in the season opener on Monday evening in Conte Forum.
The Eagles are 1-0 for the eighth straight season (seven under coach Mac) while Lafayette is 0-1.
Four players scored in double figures led by Kennedi Jackson, who in her BC debut, poured in 20 points on 10-of-16 shooting with a game-high 13 rebounds.
T'yana Todd tallied 17 points on 7-of-12 shooting while Kaylah Ivey was one assist shy of a double-double with 15 points (four 3-pointers) and nine helpers.Andrea Daley posted 13 points with 11 rebounds for a double-double, rounding out the leading scorers.
BC overcame a slow start on offense in the first quarter to outscore the Leopards 76-41 over the final three periods.
The Eagles took the lead for good just before the first half thanks to Ivey scoring the final six points of the first half to send the hosts into the break with a 34-28 lead.
Lafayette sliced the gap to 45-40 before BC ended the third on a 19-2 run after hitting seven of its next 10 shots to stretch the advantage to 64-42. BC cruised the rest of the way for the 30-point victory.
The Eagles took advantage of 21 Lafayette turnovers for 29 points and 22 points in transition.
BC has a quick turnaround against Sacred Heart on Thursday at 6 p.m. inside Conte Forum.
