BC returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts South Carolina
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass.  – Boston College dropped its first home game of the season, 88-83, against Dartmouth on Friday. The Big Green knocked down 17 3-pointers in the win - the most ever by an opposing team in Conte Forum.

- After making their first three field goal attempts and leading 7-2 in the opening minutes, Dartmouth countered with a 9-2 push, taking a 13-9 lead with 15:25 to play
- The Eagles made a line change and Fred Payne scored the next seven BC points, cutting it to 16-15 with 13:35 left
- The Big Green continued to attack from well beyond the arc, helping to build its largest lead of the opening frame - seven points - at 25-18 with 9:54 to go
- BC would engineer a 19-5 run over the next five and a half minutes, keyed by Chad Venning's nine points during the span. The Eagles took a 37-30 lead with 4:28 to go.
- A pesky Dartmouth squad would not go away, scoring six unanswered in the middle of a 10-2 push to take a 41-40 lead with 36 ticks left.
- Joshua Beadle scored the final five points of the half - on a driving layup and 3-pointer at the buzzer - giving BC a 44-42 halftime lead
- Boston College began the half with traditional three-point plays on its first two possessions, building a seven-point lead - 49-42 - with 19:21 to go.
- After a layup from Chas Kelley III made it 51-45 in favor of the Eagles with 18:48 to go, Dartmouth went on a 15-5 run over the next five minutes, flipping the script and taking a seven-point lead of its own - 60-53 - with 13:46 left.
- An and-one for Dartmouth gave the Big Green a 10-point lead - 69-59 - with 9:24 remaining.Â
- BC would chip away at that lead, cutting it to two - 84-82 - with 34 seconds left after a driving layup by Beadle. But that was as close as the Eagles would get as Dartmouth sealed the victory from the charity stripe.
- Three players finished in double figures for the Eagles: Beadle (19), Strong (18), and Venning (17). The trio accounted for 54 of BC's season-high 83 points.
- Earl Grant-coached teams are now 51-7 when scoring 80 or more points
- Strong and Donald Hand Jr. led BC with five rebounds apiece.
- The Eagles' 51.8% shooting percentage on the day was a single-game high in 2024-25
- The loss snapped an eight-game win streak against Dartmouth and was the first to an Ivy League opponent in the last 11 seasons
- Boston College welcomes South Carolina to Conte Forum as ACC/SEC Challenge play gets underway.
