Wang Slugs Eagles to Comeback Victory

BC baseball clinches spot in ACC Championship.

Results around the conference ended favorably for BC, which clinched its first ACC Championship appearance since 2019 following losses by NC State and Louisville.

Wang homered twice and drove in seven runs on the day. It was the first seven-RBI game by an Eagle since Chris Shaw in 2015.

BC trailed 3-0 immediately and was down by as many as seven runs at 9-2 in the sixth inning. The Eagles hit three home runs in the sixth to cut the deficit to one. Junior first baseman Joe Vetrano (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) hit a leadoff homer, Wang slugged his first three-run shot and graduate catcher Peter Burns (Reading, Mass.) left the yard with a two-run long ball.

Graduate right-hander Andrew Roman (Monson, Mass.) got the win in three-shutout innings of relief. Roman (3-0) allowed just one base runner and struck out six.
