BC heads to Louisville this weekend for their second to last ACC series of the season
CHESTNUT HILL, MASS – Boston College will play a three game series against Louisville this weekend. The Cardinals are currently 32-14 this season and 13-4 in the ACC. They are currently on a six game winning streak and also hold a 14-4 record at home this season.Â
Last time out for the Eagles
In Tuesday's midweek contest against Boston University, there was only one run scored in the first four innings as BU led 1-0 for the majority of the game. In the fifth, the Terrier offense exploded for a ten run inning, including a grand slam by Kayla Roncin. For the Eagles, Abby Dunning got the start, she pitched 4.1 innings, recording three strikeouts and allowing five hits.Â
Last weekend against Notre Dame, BC went 1-2 in the three game series. In Friday evening's game BC came out on fire, they scored four first inning runs on a Nicole Giery RBI and a three run home run from Freshmen Meghan Schouten. It was her third home run of the season. The Irish would get on the board in the second inning to make the score 4-1 but that would be about as much offense as they could muster against the Eagles who played one of their best defensive games of the season. Sophomore pitcher Abby Dunning and her team were able to limit Notre Dame to just six hits while playing nearly error free, recording only one error as a team. Dunning pitched her 12th complete game of the season, recording six strikeouts in 26 total at bats, she got her tenth win of the season and improved her record as a starter to 10-7.Â
