No. 5 Eagles Battle No. 1 Syracuse for ACC Regular Season Crown

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - No. 5 Boston College lacrosse seeks a regular-season ACC championship on Thursday when it faces No. 1 Syracuse at 7 p.m. on ACC Network.Â

Boston College's offense put forth a 25-goal outburst on Saturday in a 25-13 win over No. 12 Virginia in the home finale, tying the single-game school record for goals. Five players recorded at least five points while five netted at least three goals on the day. Jenn Medjid and Kayla Martello each scored a game-high five goals.Cassidy Weeks netted a season-high six points with three goals and three assists, while Mckenna Davis registered a game-best four assists with two goals for six points. Belle Smith scored four times, and Courtney Weeks tallied a career-best five points with three scores and two helpers. Both Courtney and B. Smith each had two ground balls.Â

Medjid Earns Offensive Player of the Week
Medjid for the second time this season was named the ACC's Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday. The senior registered 12 goals in two games with 13 points. She scored at least five in both wins over Boston University and UVA, while she became the third player in school history to register 300 points with Sam Apuzzo and Covie Stanwick, while she's the fourth with Charlotte North to end their career at the mark.Â

Boston College is playing its best lacrosse of the season with a six-game win streak heading into Thursday. The Eagles are outscoring their opponents by a score of 17.5-8.5 and assisting on 60 percent of their goals. BC has controlled the draw with a plus-18 draw control margin thanks to the quartet of Andrea Reynolds (24 draw controls), Ryan Smith (20 draw controls), Cassidy Weeks (17 draw controls) and B. Smith with 14. Shea Dolce has a .472 save percentage with an 8.24 goals against average and a 6-0 record.Â

- The top-ranked Orange are coming off a 14-12 win at No. 5 UNC on Saturday. Emma Tyrrell scored four goals with two assists for six points.
- Natalie Smith registered three goals while Emma Ward tallied three helpers.Â
- Syracuse boasts a loaded lineup that features five players with 20 or more goals, led by Megan Carney (48 goals) and Meaghan Tyrrell (43 goals). Tyrrell also has 86 points thanks to 43 assists. Emma Ward leads the way with 49 helpers.Â
- Delaney Sweitzer has been one of the top goalies in the nation, leading the country with a .549 save percentage and is sixth in goals-against average (8.24)
- The Orange's 16.8 goals per game are fourth in the nation and first in the ACC.Â
