Eagles Score 25 in Victory on Senior Day

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - A goal-scoring frenzy led Boston College lacrosse to a 25-13 victory over No. 12 Virginia on Senior Day in the home finale in Alumni Stadium.Â
The win streak extends to six games, leading BC to a 12-3 mark and 7-1 record in the ACC. Virginia falls to 10-5 and 5-3 in the league.Â
Five players recorded at least five points while five netted at least three goals on the day. Jenn Medjid and Kayla Martello each scored a game-high five goals.Â
Cassidy Weeks netted a season-high six points with three goals and three assists, while Mckenna Davis registered a game-best four assists with two goals for six points. Belle Smith scored four times, and Courtney Weeks tallied a career-best five points with three scores and two helpers. Both Courtney and B. Smith each had two ground balls.Â
Virginia held an early 5-2 lead until the Eagles scored three straight to tie up the contest thanks one of two Andrea Reynolds goals. Both teams exchanged leads until BC scored four of the next six goals to end the first half.
The Eagles put forth a stellar second half on both sides of the ball, outscoring the Cavaliers by 10 and limiting the UVA offense to just four goals.Â
Shea Dolce posted eight saves, while Reynolds led the team with six draw controls. Ryan Smith and B. Smith tallied five draw controls as well.Â
The Eagles return to action next Thursday against No. 1 Syracuse in a showdown for the regular-season ACC crown on ACC Network.Â
