Eagles Walk-Off UConn In Thriller

CHESTNUT HILL, MASS – Boston College defeated UConn 4-3 on Tuesday evening. The Eagles get back to a .500 record at 19-19 and the Huskies move to 25-11.Â
BC held a lead for much of the game, they scored three runs in the first two innings to take a 3-0 lead. The Huskies would then get one run back in the third to make it 3-1 but that was all the scoring that came in for much of this one until UConn was able tie it up on a two run homer in the seventh inning by Lexi Hastings.Â
But the Eagles were able to pull off a walk-off win on a base hit from Junior Nicole Giery to bring in Alexis Dale for the game sealing score. Giery played another good solid game today, she had three hits in four at bats and two RBI.Â
Sophomore pitcher Abby Dunning got her ninth win of the season and pitched her eleventh complete game of the season, recording nine strikeouts and allowing just three total hits in 25 at bats.Â
BC Softball will be back this weekend to host the Duke Blue Devils for a three game series beginning with game on on Friday at 4 p.m EST.Â
