BC Grinds Out Another Win in Second Game of Weekend Series

LA JOLLA, CA – Boston College defeated UC San Diego 5-1 on Saturday evening in the second game of three in the series. The Eagles go to 10-7 on the season overall and the Tritons move to 7-11.Â
BC started the game quickly jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first thanks to hits from Abigail Knight and Hannah Slike. The score would stay at 2-0 until in the fifth inning, Knight hit a triple to bring in another run to make it 3-0.Â
The Eagles would then build on their lead again in the sixth to make the score 5-1 off another hit from Abi Knight. She continued to be a focal point for the BC offense in this one, recording a triple, three total hits and three RBI in four at bats.Â
Graduate Susannah Anderson got the start in the circle for BC, she pitched a complete game allowing only four hits and one run in seven innings and 24 total at bats.Â
Boston College Softball will be back again tomorrow to wrap up the series against UCSD at 4 p.m EST. The game will be available to stream on ESPN+.
