
Eagles Head Out West For Weekend Series

BC will take on UCSD in a three game series and then face UC Riverside on Monday
BC is currently 8-7 overall to begin their season, last weekend they traveled to Boca Raton for the Joan Joyce Classic which was hosted on the campus of Florida Atlantic. The Eagles went 2-3 with wins against FAU and Villanova and losses to Wisconsin, FAU and Villanova. Sophomore pitcher Abby Dunning was in the circle for both of BC's wins, she pitched 14 total innings, recording 13 total strikeouts and allowing only two total runs and six total hits. She held opposing batters to just a .125 average and boasts a 3-0 record to begin her season. Senior Abigail Knight had herself another solid weekend, she recorded six total hits in 16 at bats, including two doubles and a batting average of .375.Â
History Against This Weekend's Opponents:
UCSD: This will be the first ever matchup between the two programs. The Tritons are currently 7-9 this season. They went 1-4 in the Mary Nutter Classic last weekend with a win against Portland State and losses to Washington, Texas Tech, Oregon and Loyola Marymount.
UC Riverside: BC is currently 3-0 all-time against UC Riverside. The most recent matchup came all the way back in 2005 when the Eagles won 4-3. Riverside are currently 6-9 on the season. They also took part in the Mary Nutter Classic last weekend where they went 2-2 with wins against Bethune Cookman and Texas Tech and losses to Florida and Kentucky.
After four games in California this weekend, Boston College will get ready to head up to New York next weekend for a three game series against Hofstra.Â
