
Eagles Kick Off Road Trip with Victory at Clemson

CLEMSON, S.C. - Boston College lacrosse earned its first road win of the season with a 17-10 victory over No. 24 Clemson on Thursday evening on Riggs Field.Â
The Eagles improve to 6-2 and 3-1 in the league following a third-straight win, while Clemson falls to 7-3 and 1-2 in the ACC.Â
Jenn Medjid registered her second straight game with five goals and added two assists for a game-high seven points. Mckenna Davis totaled two points and a game-best four assists for six points.Â
A total of five Eagles scored twice including a season high by Courtney Weeks. Kayla Martello, Belle Smith and Cassidy Weeks also tallied a pair of goals.Â
Shea Dolce made her first-career start between the posts, tallying a personal-high nine saves and .474 save percentage. Fellow freshman teammate Abbey Herod totaled a team-high seven draw controls with Andrea Reynolds tallying six.Â
The Eagles and Tigers traded six goals in the first 5:05 of the contest until Medjid and Cassidy Weeks went on a 5-0 run to claim an 8-3 lead early in the second frame.Â
BC captured an 11-5 advantage later in the first half thanks to a goal from Davis before Sofia Chepenik answered with a goal of her own, giving the Eagles a five-goal edge at the break.Â
The upstart Tigers, who are in their first year as a program, sliced the deficit to three with a 3-1 third quarter.Â
However, Ryan Smith's goal stopped the run followed by a score from Smith. Boston College tacked on three more after CU scored once more to pull away for the win.Â
BC returns to action on Sunday at 1 p.m. against No. 6 Denver in a showdown of top-10 teams and a rematch from last season's NCAA Tournament.
