
BC Heads to Tampa for USF Tournament To Begin 2023 Season

Eagles will take on Illinois State, South Florida, Saint Joseph's and Florida
2023 marks the 40th season of BCÂ Softball. All-time record for BC is 899-887-3. The Eagles have three NCAA appearances in program history. In ACC play, BC is 344-458 since joining the conference in the 2005-06 academic year.Â
This will be the fourth season at the helm for Head Coach Amy Kvilhaug, who was hired on July 2, 2019. The Eagles went 20-27 last season and 6-18 in ACC games. Prior to BC, Kvilhaug was the head coach at Radford and St. John's, where she won a combined 408 games. Graduate pitcher Susannah Anderson headlines the BC rotation in 2023. Last season, she led the staff with a 2.83 ERA in 141.0 innings of work. She finished the season 9-13 and totaled 96 strikeouts and was named to All-ACC third team.
History Against This Weekend's Opponents
Illinois State - BC is just 1-0 vs Illinois State in program history with the lone win coming in 2014 when the Eagles won 7-6
USF - Fridays game will be just the second meeting in each programs history. USF won the first and only meeting 6-4 in 2017
Saint Joseph's - The Eagles and Hawks will square off twice this weekend, once on Saturday and once on Sunday. Saint Joseph's leads the all time series at 2-0 with the last game coming back in 1995 when they beat BC 3-1.
Florida - Saturday's game will be only the second matchup between the Eagles and Gators. The first game between the two programs came in 2014 when Florida won 7-3.Â
After this weekends tournament in Tampa, Boston College will travel to Fort Meyers for the FGCU Tournament next weekend.Â
