BC Wins in Extra Innings Thriller To Close Out USF Tournament

TAMPA, Fla. – Boston College took South Florida on Sunday afternoon. The Eagles won 5-4 in extra innings to improve their record to 4-1, which is their best start to a season since 2017 while the Bulls move to 2-3 on the season.Â
At the top of the third after two score innings for both teams, Sophomore Hannah Slike hit a two run home run to put BC up 2-0.Â
After USF was able to get back into the game to tie it and force extra innings, Senior Abigail Knight once again was the hero, hitting a clutch double to send Slike and Nicole Giery home to give the Eagles a 5-3 lead. BC would then hold on to win at the bottom of the ninth.Â
Graduate pitcher Susannah Anderson shouldered the load for the Eagles today as she often does. She recorded six strikeouts and allowed only six hits in nine IPs.Â
BC Softball will travel to Fort Myers, Fla next weekend for the FGCU tournament which will start on Friday against Lipscomb at 2:30 PM.Â
