Thanksgiving Day Hoops as BC Takes on Loyola Chicago in K.C.

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. LOYOLA CHICAGO - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's game marks the second meeting between the two schools.
BC won the lone previous meeting - 78-66 - on Nov. 21, 2018.
The matchup came in the title game of the Fort Myers Tipoff Classic.

BOSTON COLLEGE VERSUS THE ATLANTIC 10

Boston College is 37-40 against Atlantic 10 opponents.
This is BC's second Atlantic 10 opponent this season. The Eagles downed Richmond, 68-61, on Nov. 15.
Last year, the Eagles won a pair of matchups against A-10 teams.
BC downed George Mason, 71-56, in the Paradise Jam opener. The Eagles handled Rhode Island, 53-49, at home on Nov. 27, 2022.
From 1995-2018, BC faced at least one A-10 opponent every year.

BOSTON COLLEGE IN MTE / IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT PLAY

Today is the last game of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Classic at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
Dating back to 1951-52, Boston College has compiled a 100-92 record in multi-team events (MTE) and in-season tournaments.
Last season, BC finished third in the U.S Virgin Islands Paradise Jam, earning victories over George Mason and Wyoming.
In 2018-19, the Eagles captured the inaugural Fort Myers Tipoff in Fort Myers, Fla. - the last MTE victory for BC.
This marks the first time that BC has been a part of the field of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Classic.

QUINTEN POST EARNS USBWA NATIONAL & ACC PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

Quinten Post was named one of five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week by the USBWA on Nov. 21.
A day earlier, he was named the ACC Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Nov. 20.
He averaged 18.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 blocks - including two double-doubles - in a 2-0 week.
Post had 17 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-best five assists in a win over Richmond on Nov. 15.
He followed that up with another historic performance in the win over Harvard on Nov. 18.
The 7-footer scored 20 points and set new career-highs with 19 rebounds and five blocked shots.
BC is 4-0 this season - the best start since 2007-08 - and Post has logged three double-doubles in four starts.
Post is the only player in the country averaging 19.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.0 blocked shots per game.
He is connecting on better than 55% from the floor, 50% from 3-point land, and 83% from the charity stripe.
Last year, he registered the first 50/40/80 shooting percentage line in a decade.
The Amsterdam product connected on 53.9 FG%, 42.6 3FG%, and 86.0 FT% n 2022-23.
The last player to post those percentages for an entire season (min. 15.0 ppg) was Creighton's Doug McDermott in 2012-13.
It marks the first time since Feb. 12, 2018 that a BC player was honored as ACC Player of the Week (Jerome Robinson).

Boston College will now face at least three Jesuit opponents - Fairfield, Loyola Chicago, Holy Cross - in 2023-24.

Since 1996-97, only two other players in the ACC have posted similar stat lines: Shelden Williams (Duke); Tim Duncan (Wake)
Williams had 21 points, 19 rebounds, five blocks, three assists, and two steals on Dec. 4, 2005 against Virginia Tech.
Duncan posted 22 points, 22 boards, five blocks, and two assists in a win over Saint Mary's on March 14, 1997.
Over the last 25 years, two Boston College players have had games with at least 20 points and 19 rebounds.

The trio account for nearly 40% of BC's rebounds, 65% of assists, 57% of blocks, 52% of steals, and 61% of 3-pointers made.

CAN'T KNOCK THE HUSTLE

Boston College is 2-0 this year, 7-1 in 2022-23 and 10-2 since Feb. 21, 2022 when Jaeden Zackery scores at least 15 points.
Zackery tallied a career-high 21 points in nearly 39 minutes of play at The Citadel on Nov. 10.
