Feast Week Begins for Eagles on Wednesday vs. Colorado State

BOSTON COLLEGE VS. COLORADO STATE - ALL-TIME SERIES

Today's game marks the third meeting between the two schools. The all-time series is tied at 1-1.
Both games were played at Madison Square Garden. BC won, 86-64, in the ECAC Holiday Festival on Dec. 27, 1965.
The Eagles fell, 58-57, in the third-place game of the NIT on March 30, 1988. Dana Barros led BC with 20 points in the loss.
Head coach Earl Grant is 0-1 all-time vs. Colorado State. Cam Johnson - BC's director of player personnel - had 15 points in that game.

BOSTON COLLEGE VERSUS THE MOUNTAIN WEST

Boston College is 2-0 versus Mountain West opponents.
Last year, the Eagles downed Wyoming, 59-48, in the third-place game of the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam.
The Eagles are 4-1 versus teams that currently make up the MWC, which began operation during the 1999-2000 season.

BOSTON COLLEGE IN MTE / IN-SEASON TOURNAMENT PLAY

Today is the first game of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Classic at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
Dating back to 1951-52, Boston College has compiled a 100-91 record in multi-team events (MTE) and in-season tournaments.
Last season, BC finished third in the U.S Virgin Islands Paradise Jam, earning victories over George Mason and Wyoming.
In 2018-19, the Eagles captured the inaugural Fort Myers Tipoff in Fort Myers, Fla. - the last MTE victory for BC.
This marks the first time that BC has been a part of the field of the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame Classic.

QUINTEN POST HONORED BY ACC, USBWA AS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Quinten Post was named the ACC Player of the Week, it was announced by the conference office on Nov. 20.
One day later, U.S. Basketball Writers Association named Post as one of its five Oscar Robertson National Players of the Week.
He averaged 18.5 points, 14.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 blocks - including two double-doubles - in a 2-0 week.
Post had 17 points, 10 rebounds, and a career-best five assists in a win over Richmond on Nov. 15.
He followed that up with another historic performance in the win over Harvard on Nov. 18.
The 7-footer scored 20 points and set new career-highs with 19 rebounds and five blocked shots.
BC is 4-0 this season - the best start since 2007-08 - and Post has logged three double-doubles in four starts.
Post is the only player in the country averaging 19.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 3.0 blocked shots per game.
He is connecting on better than 55% from the floor, 50% from 3-point land, and 83% from the charity stripe.
Last year, he registered the first 50/40/80 shooting percentage line in a decade.
The Amsterdam product connected on 53.9 FG%, 42.6 3FG%, and 86.0 FT% n 2022-23.
The last player to post those percentages for an entire season (min. 15.0 ppg) was Creighton's Doug McDermott in 2012-13.
It marks the first time since Feb. 12, 2018 that a BC player was honored as ACC Player of the Week (Jerome Robinson).

Quinten Post became the ninth Boston College player to earn ACC Player of the Week honors.
He joins: Jerome Robinson, Ky Bowman, Olivier Hanlan, Reggie Jackson, Corey Haji, Tyrese Rice, Jared Dudley, and Craig Smith.
Post ranks ninth nationally and is tops in the ACC in blocked shots, averaging 3.0 per game.

BEST START SINCE 2007-08

Boston College's 4-0 start is the best since the 2007-08 season. The Eagles won their first five contests to start that year.
The best start to a season in BC history came in 2004-05 - a 19-0 start - as the team moved as high as No. 3 on the AP Poll.

QP, THE LANDLORD, AND THE BIG FUNDAMENTAL - "VIDEO GAME NUMBERS"

Against Harvard, Quinten Post registered 20 points, 19 rebounds, five blocked shots, a steal and two assists in the win.
The double-double was Post's third in four games and his 19 rebounds and five blocks were new career-highs.
Since 1996-97, only two other players in the ACC have posted similar stat lines: Shelden Williams (Duke); Tim Duncan (Wake)
Williams had 21 points, 19 rebounds, five blocks, three assists, and two steals on Dec. 4, 2005 against Virginia Tech.
Duncan posted 22 points, 22 boards, five blocks, and two assists in a win over Saint Mary's on March 14, 1997.
Over the last 25 years, two Boston College players have had games with at least 20 points and 19 rebounds.
Ryan Anderson had 23 points and 19 boards (three blocks) against UNH on Dec. 16, 2012 and Ryan Sidney had 22 points and 19 rebounds (9 assists) against St. Bonaventure on Dec. 4, 2002.

BOSTON'S NEW BIG THREE

Quinten Post (19.5 ppg), Jaeden Zackery (13.8) and Claudell Harris Jr. (12.5) account for 60.0% of BC's scoring this year.
Last time out versus Harvard, the trio accounted for 57 of the Eagles' 73 points.
The trio account for nearly 40% of BC's rebounds, 65% of assists, 57% of blocks, 52% of steals, and 61% of 3-pointers made.

CAN'T KNOCK THE HUSTLE

Boston College is 2-0 this year, 7-1 in 2022-23 and 10-2 since Feb. 21, 2022 when Jaeden Zackery scores at least 15 points.
Zackery tallied a career-high 21 points in nearly 39 minutes of play at The Citadel on Nov. 10.
Trailing by six with 16:36 to play, he scored 10 of his 21 points, while also tallying two assists and two steals down the stretch.
Against Harvard, Zackery added 18 points (6-15 FG), making all five of his free throw attempts.
When Zackery goes to the free throw line at least five times, BC is 2-0 this year, was 7-2 in 2022-23, and is 11-3 all-time.
Zackery has committed one or fewer turnovers in all three games in 2023-24 and has two in 97 minutes of play so far.
Boston College has won its last five games - and six of its last seven - when Zackery has one or less turnovers in a game.

DOUBLE IT UP

For the first time since the 2018-19 season, two Boston College players logged double-doubles in the same game.
Prince Aligbe (15 pts/10 reb) and Quinten Post (17 pts/10 reb) led the way for the Eagles in the win over Richmond.
Previously, Nik Popovic (15 pts/10 reb) and Ky Bowman (24 pts/16 reb) did so at Notre Dame on Jan. 12, 2019.
Aligbe's 10 rebounds were a career-high and the double-double the first in his collegiate career.
Post has recorded three double-doubles this season and seven in his career. BC is 6-1 when Post registers a double-double.

McBLOCKTON

BC is 15-4 when Devin McGlockton blocks at least one shot, 9-0 when he blocks at least two, and 12-4 when he plays 20+ min.
The sophomore forward has registered at least one block in all four games in 2023-24 and two blocks in three of four games.
The versatile 6-7 post presence is averaging 1.8 blocked shots per game in nearly 27 minutes of playing time.
Boston College is 7-3 all-time when McGlockton reaches double-digits in the scoring column.
He has reached double figures once this season - at The Citadel - scoring all 12 of his points in the second half.
McGlockton is connecting on nearly 58% of his shot attempts through four games (15-of-26).

A HELPING HAND FOR 2023-24

Donald Hand Jr. came off the bench to score a career-best 14 points in a win at The Citadel on Nov. 10.
Hand - who missed much of the 2022-23 season due to injury - made 5-of-11 shots (2-5 3FG) in 26 minutes off the bench.
In the season opener against Fairfield, Hand saw 18 minutes of play, scoring nine points on 3-of-7 shooting from 3-point land.
Last year, Hand Jr. tore his ACL after :37 of play in the first half vs. Detroit Mercy - game two of the season - on Nov. 11, 2022.
After successful surgery on Nov. 30, 2022, the 6-5 guard relentlessly attacked his rehabilitation.
Despite being fully cleared for action during this past summer, Hand did not play in the Eagles' three-game European tour.

HARRIS HEADED FOR THE BRIGHT LIGHTS OF THE HEIGHTS

Claudell Harris Jr. has scored in double figures in each of his last three games, including a season-high 19 vs. Harvard.
Harris knocked down 7-of-12 shots - including 4-of-8 from beyond the arc - on 34 minutes of play vs. the Crimson.
It was his 11th career game with at least four 3-pointers; Harris has made 7-of-his-last-17 from the perimeter (41.2%).
Harris arrived at BC as a transfer from Charleston Southern and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.
He shined for CSU for two seasons, earning All-Big South second team honors as a sophomore a season ago.
The 6-3 guard averaged 17.5 points per game last year - the second-best scoring mark in the Big South.
Harris scored in double figures in 28 of 30 games for the Buccaneers in 2022-23 - including two consecutive 30-point games.
He scored at least 20 points on 14 occasions and also connected on three or more 3-pointers in 14 of CSU's 30 contests. Harris spent two seasons at Charleston Southern and was named to the 2021-22 Big South All-Freshman Team, averaging 10.3 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 31 games played (14 starts) in his first collegiate season.

PRINCE-IPAL

BC is 3-0 this year and 11-2 all-time when Prince Aligbe grabs at least six rebounds, including a 7-2 record in ACC contests.
He is averaging 6.3 boards per game - second-best on the Eagles; 10 of his 25 rebounds have come on the offensive glass.
His best scoring and rebounding performance of the season came on Nov. 15, when he tallied his first double-double.
The Minneapolis product scored 15 points (6-8 FG) and grabbed 10 rebounds, including four on the offensive glass.
When Aligbe scores in double figures, Boston College is 6-2, including a 5-2 mark in 2022-23.
The 6-7 swingman started 24 of the 27 games he played in 2022-23, missing seven games in November (high ankle sprain).
He consistently made big contributions in his first collegiate season, especially in the second half of several big wins.
In his first collegiate game, Aligbe made an immediate impact - connecting on the gamewinner in the opener vs. Cornell.
Aligbe scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half, including eight in the final 4:00 of play.
