BC outshoots Friars 35 to 6 in 5-0 win
NEWTON, Mass. -- The No. 14 Eagles kicked off the 2022 season with a statement victory, shutting out the Providence Friars 5-0 on Saturday night. This marks the Eagles' eleventh straight victory against the Friars, dating back to 2010.Â
Victoria Arra broke the tie in the first period, finding the back of the net after Margo Carlin took back possession from the goalie and found Arra in the middle. Kara Heck extended the lead to 2-0 before half, spinning around her defender and beating the goalie after a nice entry pass from Sarah Johnson. The second half brought more of the same, with Martina Giacchino, Margo Carlin, and Peyton Hale all logging goals as the Eagles cruised to a 5-0 victory.Â
Holding the Friars to just two shots on Goal, the Eagles controlled the pace, with freshman goalie Carrie Van Wiechen saving both shots on net.Â
Boston College will look to keep it rolling against Old Dominion tomorrow afternoon at 3:00.Â
