Eagles looking for strong start with back to back home games

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Boston College will commence its 2022 season at home this weekend, on Saturday at 5:00 vs. Providence (0-0), and Sunday at 3:00 vs. Old Dominion (0-0). After going 12-6 (3-3) in 2021 and falling to Virginia in the ACC Tournament, the field hockey team will look to start strong ahead of the B1G/ACC Cup next weekend.

The Eagles opened at No. 14 in the preseason NFHCA Division One Coaches' Poll, with Old Dominion landing at No. 19. On Saturday, the Eagles will look to capture their 11th straight victory against Providence, with their win streak against the Friars dating back to 2010.

Leading the 2022 Eagles are captains Sarah Johnson, Kendall Hanlon, Autumn Littlefield, and Margo Carlin. With a team-leading six goals and seven assists in 2021, Sarah Johnson paced the Eagles in points last year. Carlin, with four goals in 2021, earned Preseason All-ACC honors this year.

Both games will take place at the Field Hockey Complex on the Newton Campus, and will air live on ACC Network Extra.
