Eagles Predicted to Finish Third
Carlin is coming off a season in which she scored four goals with two assists for 10 points. The Drexel Hill, Penn. native started all 18 games and finished the season with a team-high .558 shot on goal percentage (at least 40 attempts).Â
Boston College received 27 votes in the predicted order of finish, while North Carolina tops the poll and Syracuse was selected to finish second. Virginia and Louisville round out the top five.Â
Six ACC teams finished last season ranked among the top 25 of the NFHCA rankings, and all seven conference teams were ranked at some point during the 2021 campaign.
The ACC leads all conferences with 21 NCAA field hockey titles. The conference has placed at least one team in the national championship game in 29 of the past 33 seasons.
Boston College opens the 2022 campaign with a pair of home matches this weekend, beginning with Providence on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the season opener. BC welcomes Old Dominion at 3 p.m. on Sunday.Â
