BOSTON COLLEGE VS. MAINE - ALL-TIME SERIES

Tonight marks the 23rd time that Boston College and Maine have met on the hardwood, dating back to the 1920-21 season.
The Eagles hold an 18-4 advantage in the all-time series.
BC took the last meeting, 78-62, on Dec. 22, 2020.
BC is 13-1 at home against the Black Bears, with the lone loss coming on Jan. 2, 2010 (52-51).
Black Bears head coach Chris Markwood served on Earl Grant's Boston College coaching staff during the 2021-22 season.

MADSEN DIALS LONG-DISTANCE IN WIN OVER DETROIT MERCY

Mason Madsen tied his career-high with five 3-pointers - including the go-ahead trifecta - against Detroit Mercy.
In his second start of the season, the junior transfer tallied 18 points and five rebounds - both one short of his career bests.
Madsen's fifth three-ball of the night with 15 seconds remaining gave BC the lead for good in the comeback over UDM.
The 6-4 guard from Rochester, Minn. leads Boston College with five made 3-pointers on the season.

MAKAI SHINES IN SECOND HALF VS. DETROIT MERCY

Makai Ashton-Langford scored all 15 of his points - including a posterizing dunk - in the second half vs. Detroit Mercy.
After starting the game 0-for-4 in the first half, the veteran point guard made 5-of-7 shots in 14 minutes in the second half.
He also logged three assists in the second half - including the pass that set up Mason Madsen's go-ahead 3-pointer.
Last season, Ashton-Langford tallied better than 60% of his scoring over the final 20 minutes of play.

DOUBLE DIP

T.J. Bickerstaff is the first Boston College player since Jared Dudley to start a season with consecutive double-doubles.
Dudley began the 2006-07 season with back-to-back double-doubles in points and rebounds, recording 19 points and 11 rebounds vs. UNH on Nov. 10, 2006 and 19 points and 14 boards against Vermont on Nov. 13, 2006.
The last time at BC player opened a season with three straight double-doubles - Kenny Harley in 2000-01.

THE ARTIST FORMALLY KNOWN AS PRINCE

Prince Aligbe announced his presence with authority, connecting on the gamewinning layup with less than a second remaining in the season opener vs. Cornell on Nov. 7
Aligbe led Boston College in scoring with 16 points, while also grabbing nine rebounds - narrowly missing a double-double.
Five of his nine boards came on the offensive glass. He also added an assist and two steals in 24 minutes of action.
The 6-7 forward from Minneapolis scored 12 of his 16 points in the second half, including eight in the final 4:00 of play.
Aligbe became the first Boston College freshman in 11 years to lead the Eagles in scoring in his first career game.
On Nov. 14, 2011, newcomer Patrick Heckmann led BC in scoring (19 points) in the season lidlifter vs. New Hampshire.

BICKERSTAFF WITH A FULL STAT LINE VS. CORNELL

T.J. Bickerstaff's stat line vs. Cornell: 12 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, five steals, and two blocked shots.
It was his third career double-double in points and rebounds, while his five steals vs. the Big Red were a career-best.
Dating back to 1996, Bickerstaff is only the second ACC player to post a game a stat line with at least those totals.
Florida State's Chris Singleton had 22 points/11 boards/6 assists/10 steals/4 blocks vs. UNC Greensboro on Nov. 14, 2010.

ZACKERY'S RARE GIVE AND TAKE TOTALS

Jaeden Zackery dished out a career-high seven assists and was one short of his career-best in steals with four vs. Cornell.
Zackery also added 11 points on 4-of-9 shooting in the opening night win over the Big Red.
Zackery is one of only six Boston College players since 1996 to log at least 11 points, seven assists, and four steals in a game.
The others: Troy Bell and Ryan Sidney (twice), Olivier Hanlan, Duane Woodward, and Rakim Sanders.

Last season, when BC attempted 15 or fewer 3-pointers, it was 8-4; with 16 or more 3-point attempts, BC was 5-16.
So far this season, the Eagles are 2-0 and are averaging 20.5 3-point field goal attempts per game.

NEVER FORGET TRIBUTE CLASSIC - BIG EAST RIVALRY RENEWED IN NEWARK

Boston College is proud to be a part of the Never Forget Tribute Classic, played on Saturday, Dec. 10 at the Prudential Center.
The Eagles will take on Villanova in a game that will air live nationally on Fox at 5 p.m. from "The Rock" in Newark.
It will mark the 79th time the two school meet on the hardwood - but only the third time since BC left for the ACC in 2005.
BC and Nova last met on Nov. 25, 2020 in the 2K Empire Classic, held in Bubbleville at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.
