About the Eagles
Last Time Out
BC battled No. 2/3 Louisville but fell 63-53 on Sunday. The Eagles went into the second period with a 20-10 lead before scoring only 33 points in the final three periods of the game. Taylor Soule scored 17 points on 8-for-16 shooting and grabbed five rebounds. Cameron Swartz rounded out the leading scorers with 12 points, three assists, and two rebounds. Maria Gakdeng fought down low for a team-high seven boards on top of eight points, a career-high three steals, and two blocks. The Eagles' five-point second quarter and 24 turnovers proved to be the difference in the setback.Â
Gakdeng Named ACC Freshman of the Week
The Lanham, Md. won her fourth straight ACC Freshman of the Week award after averaging 11 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 blocks, and shot 71.4 percent from the floor. She led the team in rebounding, blocked shots, and field goal percentage. Gakdeng is the first Eagle since Carolyn Swords and Stefanie Murphy in 2007-08 to win the award at least four times in one season.
