No. 20 Eagles Take On New Hampshire in Home-and-Home Series

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – No. 20 Boston College begins a home-and-home series against New Hampshire on Friday night at the Whittemore Center in Durham on NESN at 7 p.m. BC and UNH close the Hockey East series on Saturday night at 7 p.m. in Chestnut Hill on Collegesportslive.com.
Those outside New England without access to NESN can watch Friday's game in Durham for free on Collegesportslive.com. Both games will air live on WEEI 850 AM and BCEagles.com beginning 15 minutes prior to faceoff.Â
SETTING THE SCENE
• The series is a rematch of last year's single game Hockey East Quarterfinal on the Heights
• The Eagles enter the weekend at 10-6-3 overall and 5-4-2 in Hockey East play, while the Wildcats come in one game below .500 at 9-10-1 (3-7-1 HEA)
• BC saw its six-game unbeaten streak (4-0-2) come to an end last Saturday in a 5-4 loss to UConn
• Boston College remains 5-2-2 in its last nine contests overall dating back to Nov. 12
• This is the Eagles' first two-game weekend in Hockey East play since Nov. 18-19 vs. Maine

• Kevin O'Neil fired a shot into the top left corner with 32.2 seconds left in regulation last Saturday to hand UConn a 5-4 Hockey East victory over BC in a back-and-forth affair at Kelley Rink
• The loss snapped the Eagles unbeaten streak at six as they dropped to 10-6-3 (5-4-2 HEA)
• Prior to O'Neil's winner, Patrick Giles had tied the game at 4-4 on a partial breakaway with 54.5 seconds remaining in the third period
• Giles added an assist for a multi-point performance, while fellow seniors Casey Carreau and Marc McLaughlin lit the lamp along with sophomore Colby Ambrosio
SENIOR CLASS
• Boston College's five-member senior class has combined for 41 goals and 79 points through 19 games (4.2 points per game)
• Marc McLaughlin is second in Hockey East and fifth nationally in goals per game, while Jack McBain ranks third and sixth respectively
• Patrick Giles sits eighth in the league and 43rd in the nation ; the trio has combined for 36 goals
• Overall, 41 of the team's 70 goals this season have been scored by seniors (59%)
• Jack St. Ivany is tied for first among all Hockey East defensemen in assists (14), ranks second in points per game, and is second overall among all skaters with a +16 rating
• Forward Casey Carreau has collected his first four points (2-2-4) in his last seven games
LEDYARD CLASSIC CHAMPS
• Boston College won the Ledyard Classic title for the third time before New Year's with wins over Mercyhurst and the host Dartmouth at Thompson Arena in the 32nd annual tournament
• BC scored four straight goals in a 4-2 victory over Mercyhurst on Dec. 30 to open the tournament, marking Jerry York's 650th win in 28 seasons as head coach at Boston College
• On New Year's Eve, BC dominated from start to finish and cruised to a 6-1 victory over Dartmouth
• Jack McBain scored twice in both victories and was named the Tournament MVP
• Henry Wilder won the Top Goalie Award with a .947 save percentage in his two wins
