North’s Record Day Leads No. 5 BC to 21-11 Win over Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Charlotte North scored 10 goals to lead BC to a 21-11 win over Virginia Tech on Saturday, April 10 in Blacksburg, Virginia.
North's 10 goals set a new BC record for goals in a single game, breaking Sam Apuzzo and Jenn Medjid's record of nine. Apuzzo scored nine against Navy on February 24, 2018 and Medjid this season against Louisville on March 28, 2021.
North had 11 points on the day, adding an assist to her 10 goals, while Medjid had six points (3G, 3A) and Belle Smith scored five goals. North also tied her career-high with 13 draw controls.
BC assisted 12 of its 21 goals on the day, with Caitlynn Mossman and Cara Urbank each tallying three.
A back-and-forth first half led to a 9-4 BC lead heading into the break.
Virginia Tech came out firing in the second half scoring three of the first four goals before BC went on a 5-0 run to make it a 15-7 lead.
The Hokies scored two more following the run, but BC answered with four more to solidify the lead and get a running clock.
North scored her record 10th goal with two seconds left off a beautiful pass from Kit Arrix.
Rachel Hall made five saves on 14 shots in 54 minutes of game time.

BC is back at home on Thursday, April 15 against Notre Dame in Alumni Stadium at 5 p.m.

- Charlotte North broke the BC and ACC single-game goal record with 10 goals. She was one shy of her career-high of 12 points. She also tied her career-high with 13 draw controls, which is the third-most in a game at BC. North also had a career-high three caused turnovers.
- Jenn Medjid scored three goals and added three assists on the day. The three assists set a career-high for Medjid, who now has 39 points (32G, 7A) on the year.
- Belle Smith set a new career-high with five goals. She did so on just six shots and now has 25 goals and six assists this year with a .694 shooting percentage.
- Cara Urbank had one goal and three assists, giving her 19 goals and 19 assists this year.
